Re: Women Commentators
No, no, no. How can you commentate knowledgeably when you haven't played the sport?

You need to experience the game to be able to understand it properly. Women's sport is completely and utterly different to men's sport. The level of physicality and aggression is not what women can cope with, and nearly all women would avoid such a conflict.

Re: Women Commentators
Men and women commentators? I always use the MUTE button and I don't need their voices when I can watch and make up my own mind what is going on. I might turn on the subtitles at half time to see if they agree with my opinion. Sometimes.

There's a woman hosting the rugby league international at the moment. Until I saw her, I thought it was a bloke talking.

Re: Women Commentators
There is one on Match of the Day who screeches and I can’t bear it. This Aluko woman (I know she is on another thread) also seems out of her depth as a pundit. Out of interest, do they have males doing punditry and commentating, etc, on TV for instance, for women’s hockey or netball?

"The worst bit is when they get all excited and go up decibels. "

True, but that's not limited to the women.
There's a few of the blokes that do that, particularly when a star player in one of the BIG sides scores a goal.

You're a bit behind the times on such matters.

They don't allow women to play, comment or even enter a football stadium in Iran and other Islamic countries.
Seems like these are places a lot of you should move to.

Football commentating used to be something that the very best ones fell into by accident now there is a special course for it everybody thinks they can do it.

There was a bird commentating yesterday’s midday game who was good.

There is another bird who does a lot of BBC Radio stuff who is absolutely fucking shocking, sounds like a ten year old boy, screeching her head off.

Grumpster 11:57 Thu Jun 21
Re: Women Commentators
The bird on BBC at the moment in the studio (Alex) is ok, as she isn't a try hard which most of the others seem to be, going over the top to make a point of being a woman.

Plus she's fit and has a personality which helps!
